Berry Season

Well hey there folks.

I apologize for not keepin' up on our Blog posts.

From here on out I will try my hardest to make this a regular thing.

So summertime is almost here, which means Ontario produce is getting into full swing around here. It's hard to believe that only a few short months ago we were all so busy cleaning up our yards from the insane ice storm. Now this week we have temperatures in the +30's. Like, talk about Canadian weather.

Summer time is truly the most exciting time of year. It's where the simplest of things bring so much joy to all of us. Like Ontario strawberries & pod peas. Two of the best road trip snacks out there. Hands down, no argument.

We are slowly bringing in fresh Ontario produce as it is ready. Soon enough corn & peaches will be hittin' the tables. But let's not rush the seasons, we need to enjoy it because in no time fast we will be hunting grocery store shelves for week old, dry strawberries & praying for the ice storms to stay clear.

I am so proud to be a Canadian but especially livin' here in Ontario where our farmers deserves gold metal awards for their outstanding job at growing & harvesting such beautiful crops.

So quick little fun fact, if you didn't already know, we are 'farmers,' here ourselves. Meaning yes, we grow fruits & veggies right here on our main location in Coldwater, Ontario. 2 weeks ago we planted tomatoes, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, squash, peppers & more! Which we will be harvesting from, when ready, all summer long. Doesn't get any more local then that.

I think we all know just how important local is right now. It should always be. Don't waste your time stuck in large chain stores shopping for stuff that doesn't have any taste. Buy it from your local neighborhood markets. I guarantee you quailty.

Let's keep this chat short & sweet. Sweet as the Ontario strawberries we have available at all 3 of our locations. As well as the pod peas, rhubarb, asparagus & soon enough beans. Yaay beans!

Have a 'berry,' good day folks !
